Noch 10 (12) Tage bis Thanksgiving und noch 39 Tage bis Weihnachten

Na, hattet Ihr ein schönes Wochenende?
Unseres war wirklich sehr entspannt und lecker noch dazu! Die Ente ist gelungen, und wir wissen jetzt somit immerhin auch schon, welche Füllung in das große Federvieh an Thanksgiving kommt!
Meine erste Cranberry-Sauce ist mir auch geglückt! Das war ganz einfach dank einem Rezept von hier.

Aufgabe 28:

lautet diesmal: Wir machen unser Heim feiertagstauglich! Wenn Ihr so ein wenig wie ich seid, dann gibt es Stellen im Haus/in der Wohnung, die man ganz gerne mal - ich sag mal - übersieht...
Bei mir war bis vor Kurzem "oben auf dem Kühlschrank" so eine Stelle!
Die Küchenschränke lege ich obendrauf immer mit Zeitungspapier aus, das ich alle 4 Wochen wechsele (immer, wenn die Küchen-Zone dran ist).
Doch auf dem Kühlschrank funktionierte das nicht so...
Letztens habe ich aber einen Tipp gelesen, der klasse funktioniert: Statt Zeitungspapier legt man die Fläche auf dem Kühlschrank mit Frischhaltefolie aus! Durch die glatte Oberfläche des Kühlschranks haftet die Folie prima und bewahrt den Kühlschrank davor, durch Fett und Staub zuzuknostern!

Also rauf auf den Hocker oder die Leiter und auf Schränken und Kühlschrank saubergemacht!

Ich weiß, das ist eher eine unangenehme Aufgabe, muss aber auch gemacht werden!

Only 10 (12) days till Thanksgiving and 39 days till Christmas

I hope you had a great weekend! Our's was very quiet and delicious! We had duck for lunch yesterday which was quite tasty and now we know what kind of stuffing we want for our turkey on Thanksgiving! The first Cranberry sauce in my life was a success and very easy thanks to a recipe from here.

Challenge #28:

is: Prepare your home for the Holidays! If you are a bit like me, there are areas in your home that you tend to overlook... For me this area used to be (until not so long ago) the top of the fridge! On top of all the other kitchen wall cupboards I have newspaper pages layed out and I replace them once a month when I work in my kitchen zone. But somehow this didn't work on the fridge... Then I read this great tip: Instead of newspaper use saran wrap! This works great and keeps your refrigerator top from getting dusty and greasy (a very bad combination!).

So get on a ladder and clean the tops of your cupboards and refrigerator!

I know that this is not a fun task, but it has to be done!
